The First Teaser for The New Dune Series 'Dune: Prophecy' Is Here And My Shai-Hulud Is Tingling

From the expansive universe of Dune, created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, DUNE: PROPHECY follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit. DUNE: PROPHECY is inspired by the novel “Sisterhood of Dune,” written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.

One of the coolest things about the Dune movies so far is the insane scope of them. There are basically no Scifi movies out there that manage to get scenes and battles to that scale without completely abandoning visual integrity, but Denis found a way. This series, however, looks like it is going to focus on a dive into the closed door conversations and lore of the world instead of trying to replicate that same feel from the movies which, in my opinion, is a great idea. The Bene Gesserit and the voice are fascinating so this should be an absolute treat for us similar to 'House of the Dragon' is for fans of Thrones.

The cast members I recognize are awesome. Emily Watson absolutely crushed it in arguably the best miniseries ever, 'Chernobyl' and Mark Strong is one of the great familiar faces in movies and a great fit in this sort of scifi world.

Alison Schapker is the showrunner. She previously worked on 'Lost', 'Alias', 'Brothers and Sisters', 'Fringe', 'The Flash', 'Altered Carbon' and 'Westworld'. Focusing in more on the sci fi here, I'm not totally sold. She came in for the third season of 'Lost', which is right when the show started to lose steam, the much worst second season of 'Altered Carbon' and the final season of 'Westworld', which was actually solid but only relative to the bad third season. Yuck. However, I doubt she would have gotten this shot unless she had a really solid vision.

I may not have given Dune a 100/100 but I am still damn excited to get any and every dive into this world that I can get.
