I Said I Wouldn't Overreact To The Cavs Winning A Game Against The Celtics, But....

So this was my plan and I'm sticking to it. I'm not falling into the same trap that my esteemed co-worker Nicholas Smokes fell into just one series ago, over-chirping because his heavily doubted Miami Heat team took one game from the Celtics. If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: I only dance when I hear music. I'm still fully aware that although the Cavs went into Boston as 13 point dogs last night and whooped their ass every which way.....

.....that we still have quite the uphill battle ahead of us. I mean, the Celtics are still -1100 to win the series. And even with coming back to Cleveland for Game 3, they're still -7.5 on the road floor (disrespectful, but that's beside the point). The fact of the matter is that it's a 7 game series, and while Donovan Mitchell was far and away the best player on the court last night, AND the supporting cast showed up more than they have in literally any game all season, the Celtics still have the far superior team......and they've proved it literally every single night of the season except last night.

WITH THAT BEING SAID: Don't let us take one in Cleveland. Because if you let us take one in Cleveland, you gotta come back to Cleveland again for a Game 6. That's how Math works, Boston fans. Can't win a series in 5 games if the opponent has two wins. So now the Cavs are one win in the next three away from guaranteeing that Boston has to get on a plane again and fly to Cleveland for what will likely be the loudest crowd in NBA history. Could you imagine what that atmosphere would be like if little old Cleveland got to host big bad Boston in a back to the wall game? Or even, dare I say, a potential elimination game.....? And while I have little to no confidence that we'll get to that point, I personally guarantee that Cleveland will win a Game 6 should it get there.

And let me say this: if we get THAT Evan Mobley again, we will win at least one more game in this series.

Alright, I'm getting ahead of myself. I do NOT want to be on record as talking shit yet. I'm smarter than that. I have eyeballs and a brain. So while I couldn't lay off the low hanging fruit in the moment last night….

…..I am sticking to my word and not overreacting. And I'm also sticking to my word and completely overreacting if we win again.
