Tress Way Is An Absolute King For How He Handled Passing His Jersey Number 5 To Jayden Daniels

Bro, Tress Way is the actual best. Not only has he been our best player for the last...I don't want to count how many seasons, but he's become not only one of the best punters in the league (lots of practice!), but a fan favorite for his great personality as well. So when the Commies drafted future Hall of Famer Jayden Daniels with the number 2 overall pick, the question became- what happens to the number 5 jersey? Now obviously no matter how good your punter is, the new franchise QB should usually get whatever number he wants. It's sort of just the pecking order of the NFL. But at the same time, Tress isn't a random bum, he's Tress fucking Way.

So yesterday, as you see above, Tress handed over number 5 to Jayden. And this team instantly became the most likable team since 2012, and they haven't even taken a snap.

But it doesn't end there. Watch Tress get emotional talking about what the Commanders organization, and the number 5, means to him:

From undrafted, cut, to a captain. But he understands why he's a captain, and man…what an absolute king.

And of course Tress didn't ask for money or anything. Just wants to attend a football game with his family. So…free.

I'm sure once Jayden makes his first Pro Bowl and signed a $500 million deal after he wins us our 3rd straight Super Bowl he won't forget what Tress did.

And it has to be noted- it's amazing how different the culture already feels. Last year was a transition period with Josh Harris taking over the club right before the season started. But now with Adam Peters in the building and a whole new coaching staff, the differences are already palpable, and it's only May 10th. It's a great time to be a Commies fan.
