During The Action With A Minute Left In The 3rd Period Of The Tied Rangers/Canes Game, ESPN Decided To Flip On Over To The West Coast Stars/Avs Game

That's incredible. I love thinking that someone in a truck physically pushed a button to make that happen. I don't know the exact ins and outs of the tech side, seeing as all my tech knowledge comes from All Business Pete, so to me this is par for the course. We are, after all, the same network that once aired a college football show for a full hour without any audio. "Nate, what do you mean by 'no audio'?" Yes, their mouths were moving, the highlights were playing, Pat McAfee was yelling "CUZZZZOOOOOO!!!!!" and nobody at home could hear it. So to see ESPN flip on over to the Stars game while the Rangers were rushing up the ice on the PP in the final minute? That's just perfect. They always say ESPN wishes they could be us, well now look at them go!

Whit and most of us are too young, but Klemmer was alive in 1968 when NBC flipped to the movie "Heidi" with a minute left in a 3 point game.

The Raiders took on the NY Jets on November 17, 1968. With the Jets up by 3 with 65 seconds left, NBC switched away from the game to its scheduled programming - the children's movie Heidi - and TV viewers never saw the Raiders emerge victoriously.

What's great about that one is they had to wait for the newspaper the next morning to find out what happened. I cannot imagine the confusion all those folks had on the subway ride to work. Must have been absolute chaos in the tubes.
