Stephen A. Smith Tried To Talk Baseball Today And Questioned Why Players Like Mike Trout Always Get Hurt In a Non-Contact Sport

Stephen A. Smith and his producers decided today would be his one day of the year where he'd pretend to know and talk baseball.  This is a special kind of day because you never know what you're going to hear. Yes it's all for clicks to get suckers like myself to react, and goddamn does it work every time. In previous years we had him say Ohtani can't be the face of baseball because he doesn't speak English. While bashing the Yankees he once blamed Hank Steinbrenner, who had died two years prior.

Well today he set his sights on Mike Trout. Speaking of Trout, here's another gem from Stephen A.

Well, regarding today's atrocity, let's focus on how he doesn't think baseball is strenuous on the body. Let me take you through the basics Stephen A. For instance, the Cubs are playing 7 games in 7 days this week. Most weeks you play 5 to 6 games a week. You're playing a three hour baseball game where you are sprinting, sliding, using your whole body to swing in very fast motions. It's a ton of stop and start. And don't even get me started on throwing. The human body was not made to throw a baseball. I had to shut it off after this because he said he doesn't understand oblique injuries. You have a guy throwing 100mph at you and you have to turn your hips so fast to even make contact and to have any sort of power.

I just hate lazy takes like you shouldn't get hurt in baseball because there is no contact. Playing 162 games is fucking insane on the body. Now I want Stephen A. to sprint to make a diving catch, hit a double the next inning and then play the next day. If the argument is that Mike Trout can't stay healthy I wouldn't even comment because he is right about that. To say you don't know how baseball players get hurt just means you don't know what you are talking about and you watch baseball just like you watch the Knicks, You just don't watch anything.

Then I have morons like this on twitter who just make zero sense. Is he telling me Mike Trout is overweight?? I guarantee you Trout does everything he can so his body is in the best shape possible. It unfortunately doesn't matter for him, he's snakebitten. I just hate that people have no idea how hard it is to play a full week of games every day and stay healthy because they just don't know how the game is played.
