The Time Is Now: Whoever The Commanders Go With At #2 Will Be Our Savior

Jayden or Drake, Drake or Jayden. This is the question that has been hanging over the Commies heads since we locked up the #2 overall pick last September January. Sure, JJ has made some noise too but it's mostly been a 2 horse race between the UNC and LSU QBs. A month ago it seemed locked up for Drake Maye, and now the tides have very, VERY much turned to the point the world would be shocked if it wasn't Jayden. But there's no guarantee at all.

Oh, before I go on, I stayed away from all that Top Golf controversy. I hate that shit. It was draft drama that was so stupid I couldn't even bring myself to type about it. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you are lucky. If you do, I'm glad that shit is over. I never once put stock into it at all.

But anyway, I had to write this blog sort of in response to Dante's blog about the Bears taking Caleb Williams. Dante has already called Caleb a generational bust that the world hasn't seen since Johnny Sins. I cannot imagine thinking that way. I have been ride or die for every QB who has taken a snap for Washington, so that's like 43 QBs in the last 10 years. It didn't matter if it was RG3, Kirk, John Beck, Rex Grossman, Case Keenum, Carson Wentz, and every other jabroni in between, I have been the leader of the bandwagon. Why? Because THAT'S OUR QUARTERBACK! There is no more important position in all of sports than your team's starting QB, and god dammit do I want mine to be good in the worst way. Sure we're hitting at the same rate as a 3am "you up?" text, but shooters keep on shooting, and Washington is not different when it comes to drafting quarterbacks. And eventually someone will text back "yes", the same way we will one day have our savior at QB. And fellas…I think that day is TODAY.

Today is the day Jayden or Drake (99% sure it's Jayden but I'm keeping my options open) changes this franchise. Today is the day we finally stop playing this never ending game of Quarterback Roulette. Today is the day our savior who will lead us to the Super Bowl puts on the Washington jersey for the first time. And boy am I excited.

At the end of the day, the science of drafting a stud QB is basically non-existent. There's a reason Mitch Trubisky went #2 and Patrick Mahomes went #10- GMs and scouts will never be able to figure out who will be good in the NFL and who will stink. All you can do is take the guy you think has the highest ceiling and pray to every god under the sun. Hey, if we can get Snyder to sell the team, we can get a starting QB too. It's all lining up. HTTC.
