Mike McDaniel Questioned Why The Dolphins Pay Tyreek Hill So Much Money After They Lost To The Chiefs In The Playoffs
First and foremost shoutout to Million Dollaz Worth of Game, this interview was amazing. I think I speak for all Dolphins fans when I say this: we needed to hear that. We needed to hear that Mike McDaniel doesn’t give a fuck if you’re Tyreek Hill or a 4th string WR. If you’re not holding up your end of the bargain, Mike is going to hold you accountable.
I’m gonna be honest with you, I didn’t know he had that in him. Mike is a player's coach; he’s funny, goofy, and also brilliant, but I always feared he’d give certain players special treatment. For instance, when Brian Flores was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, it was very obvious when he was upset with Tua’s play at QB. Whereas Mike McDaniel seems to have a more laid-back approach.
Every coach is different; I don’t care if they show their frustration publicly or in the locker room, as long as they’re holding their players accountable, I’m fine with it. Everyone knows wide receivers are the biggest divas in the league, so hearing that Mike McDaniel is calling in a $120M WR coming off back-to-back 1,700 yard seasons to ask him why we’re paying him all this money if he can’t get off the line tells me everything I need to know about Mike McDaniel.
