It's Coming Home - The Stacked USA Olympic Basketball Roster Dropped, Now It's Time To Remind The World We Still Dominate The Sport

There it is. Time to remind the world that we're still the basketball superpower. This had been rumored to happen after we kept shitting the bed at the FIBA World Cup and now it's a perfect opportunity to go to France, beat the shit out of everyone and stop the whole talk about countries catching up to us. That's just not true when we send the best of the best. Obviously other countries got better with a ton of NBA guys, but who is beating this roster?

Not to mention, there's still a spot available from this likely group:

The Knicks fan in me would love to see Olympian Jalen Brunson, but the smart Knicks fan in me wants him nowhere near extra basketball after the playoffs. We already know Thibs is going to play him 44 minutes a game, let the man catch his breath. I don't care if he's better than guys on the roster, let him get healthy. I assume we go with Kawhi/Paul George as option 1 and then Banchero or Mikal Bridges or a big like Jaren Jackson. Either way, it doesn't matter. We're talking about the 12th pick on this team.

I love Olympic basketball. Still something about it that gets to me and one of the best games I've ever watched was that 2008 one vs Spain. We need that again. We need a roster like that to remind the world who we are. Not to mention we open the Olympic schedule vs Jokic. Statement game. I just hope this sets the tone for every Olympics going forward. Give us our best 12 vs the world. Hell with this roster just let Carmelo be the 12th man, no doubt he can still play in this setting.
