Augusta National Asked Jason Day To Remove 'Busy' Sweater-Vest During Round 2 Of The Masters

AUGUSTA — There are a lot of rules at this place, some written and some merely understood. Jason Day violated the latter type, apparently.

Day's outfits have received a ton of attention this week—on social media and from Augusta National itself. He showed up Thursday in a pair of very loose-fitting pants. No harm, no foul. But Friday's sweater-vest crossed the metaphorical line. It said, in giant letters, MALBON GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP, and apparently that took attention away from the tournament. That's a no-no at the Masters. 

Day was asked after Saturday's round if the greencoats were cool with his sartorial choices. 

"Are you talking about like Augusta in general?" Day asked. "Yeah, they asked me to take it off -- the vest off yesterday."

Q. The busy one?

"Yeah, the busy one. Respectfully, you do that because it's all about the tournament here, and I understand that. I respect the tournament. That's what we're here to do is try and play and win the green jacket."

You simply don't overshadow the Masters. Can't wait to see what he whips out on Sunday.
