Nate Robinson Says Doc Rivers Intentionally Screwed Him Out Of $1.5 Million By Benching Him With 1 More Game Needed To Hit Contract Bonus
Doc Rivers is the owner of one of the dumbest faces off all-time. He's also a man who clearly has some sort of dirt on the rest of the NBA because he somehow manages to keep getting all the best coaching jobs, despite doing nothing of note since 2008. He's the first coach in NBA history who's managed to blow a 3-1 series lead 3 separate times. And according to Nate Robinson, he's a real big douche bag.
If Nate Robinson is right about Doc Rivers doing this on purpose, this should honestly be getting more attention. I mean that is an all-time fucked up thing to do to a player. It's not like Nate Robinson needed to play 20 minutes. Or score 10 points. He literally just had to get in the game. He could have logged 1 minute in the 4th quarter and he it would have netted him $1.5 million. You'd have to be such an incredible ass hole to do that intentionally.

If I were to play devil's advocate, I suppose it's possible Doc Rivers was under strict instruction from the owner to not let Nate Robinson get in the game to save the team money. That would be a whole other story in it's own right. Also, it doesn't sound like Nate Robinson specifically told Doc Rivers his situation. I suppose it's also possible Doc had no idea that he needed just one more game to hit is bonus. Had Nate Robinson went up to him mid-game and made that abundantly clear, that could have made a difference. He really should have just checked himself in the game on his own at that point. There's not a person in the world who would have blamed him for it. Either way, you can't blame Nate Robinson for holding a grudge. I can't imagine having to look at Doc Rivers big stupid face knowing this man robbed you of millions of dollars. I don't have the slightest tie to Doc Rivers and even I get annoyed by him.
In other much scarier Nate Robinson news, apparently he's in desperate need of a kidney.

So it’s serious, can’t miss a day. I go in for four hours, three days a week, four hours a day. And they clean my blood to get my toxins out. And they help me out a lot because that’s how I’m living.”
“The [dialysis] machine has been helping my longevity and my life right now,” said Robinson, who added he cut out processed food to try to stay healthier. “So, I’m just enjoying the times where I do feel healthy. I try to get out there with my kids, see my family and play basketball, do the things that I love.
Thoughts and prayers to Nate Robinson and his family. I can't imagine going through that shit at 39 years old. I know nothing about how kidney transplants work, but it's crazy to me that a person as high profile as Nate Robinson hasn't been able to find a kidney. Hopefully he ends up finding one soon. Nate Robinson was always one of the most entertaining players to watch for me. Anybody who manages a lengthy NBA career at 5'9" has to have incredible skill and athleticism. Watching him dunk on people twice his size would never get old.
