Ohio State Is Paying Both Of Their Coordinators, Chip Kelly and Jim Knowles, $2 Million Each This Year

Well.....that's a lot of money for coordinators. I don't know where the current pay scales stand, but a quick Google search tells me the highest paid assistant in college football last year made about $2 million.....and now Ohio State has two of them making that much. In fact, the Buckeyes now have a jaw-dropping FIVE assistant coaches making over a million dollars a year.

- Jim Knowles (Defensive Coordinator) $2.2 million

- Chip Kelly (Offensive Coordinator) $2 million

- Brian Hartline (WRs) $1.6 million

- Larry Johnson (DL) $1.4 million

- Tim Walton (DBs) $1.4 million

Total Payroll for Assistant Coaches: $11.425 million

Let me say this: it's all worth it for a National Championship. And if we don't win one.......? Bad, bad things are coming to Columbus. If we don't win it all....and especially Beat Michigan....heads are going to roll this year. And they should!!!!

Speaking of Michigan.....I'd have to imagine their fans are over there laughing at us this afternoon now that our assistant coach salaries have been announced. Yes, Jim Knowles is making about a million dollars per every 100 yards that Donovan Edwards rushes on him. And yes, Chip Kelly is getting paid nearly a million dollars per point that Ohio State scored in the Cotton Bowl vs. Missouri. I get it.....our 11-2 season last year was a complete and utter failure. And these salaries seem pretty damn high considering there's places in the very same state where head D1 football coaches are making $500K a year (Akron). But what do you want us to do? Instead of sulking in defeat, the Buckeyes are going all in this year.....and so are our donors.

I'm all in on the Buckeyes this year. It starts with the first Nationally Televised spring game tomorrow afternoon. We apparently have the best players and coaches that money can buy.....so it's about time we start acting / playing like it. Beat Michigan or clean house. Nationally Championship or bust.
