It Sounds Like Ohio State Told Kyle McCord (12-1 As Their Starter) To Enter The Transfer Portal Just Days After Losing To Michigan

And look, I hate to beat a dead horse here. It's been 4+ months since Kyle McCord entered the transfer portal so I'm ready to just focus on the 5-way QB competition we have in Columbus and the first nationally televised Spring Game ever. But I haven't forgotten the way the transfer went down, in-between the Michigan loss and the Bowl Game.....the ensuing reporting....and then McCord coming out and saying it was "all BS".

What exactly was BS, Kyle? Because the way I remember it, the story was that Ohio State wouldn't guarantee you the starting QB position of the most talented WR / RB rooms in the country, and you had the audacity to ask for more NIL money. That's what I heard. But you said, no no, that's not what happened at all. You said it was simply business!

….are we not talking about the same thing here? The business decision was that Ohio State clearly told you that you were no longer in the cards….or at least not guaranteed to be in them….and you "accordingly" chose to leave. And I know I'm just a dumb sports blogger, but doesn't the term business revolve around finances? Sounds like the money wasn't right either.

Look, at the end of the day, I wish Kyle McCord well. He probably got a little bit of the raw end of the deal by going 12-1 and getting forced out of town, but also, I'm pretty sure I could've gone 12-1 as the starting QB of the Buckeyes with the 5-stars I'd have catching my passes. The fact of the matter is that Maserati Marv was way too fancy to have to be in the same garage as a Honda McCord. So let's just call it as it was (and sounds like he finally admits it in this video). Ohio State no longer wanted Kyle McCord to be their starting QB because he was being carried by more talented players and wasn't good enough to do anything on his own, and he left because he either wasn't going to get the job or didn't want to have to compete for it. Good luck at Syracuse. Sounds like they're thrilled to have him.
