Throwback Thursday - The Toadies - Possum Kingdom

The Toadies were an alternative rock band from Fort Worth, Texas, that became prominent in the 1990s. 

The band's music was a mixture of grunge, punk, and southern rock that resonated with a wide audience during the alternative rock boom of the decade. Their raw, energetic sound is characterized by distinctive guitar riffs and the gravelly voice of lead vocalist Vaden Todd Lewis. 

The Toadies' breakthrough came with their 1994 debut album, Rubberneck. This album not only solidified their place in the rock genre but also produced their most iconic song, "Possum Kingdom." The track stood out for its dark, captivating narrative and compelling chorus, making it an enduring hit on alternative rock stations. "Possum Kingdom" is often interpreted as a song with sinister undertones, featuring lyrics that weave a mysterious tale that listeners have speculated to be about everything from vampires to serial killers
