I Am Officially A WWE Champion

Tonight, Brandon Walker and I competed in a "celebrity" WWE 2k24 Tournament at WWE World in Philadelphia to kick off WrestleMania weekend; and I put "celebrity" in quotes because let's be honest, Brandon Walker and I were in it - but we were competing against some actual celebrities like Gabriel Iglesias, Wale, Lane Johnson, and a huge gaming streamer named LEGIQN. Xavier Woods and Tyler Breeze were the hosts, and Greg Miller refereed, and it was a friggin blast.

Everyone got paired up with a wrestler from the WWE, and these were the teams:

-Robbie (Me)/Kofi Kingston

-Brandon Walker/The Miz (and R-Truth)

-Lane Johnson/Bayley

-Gabriel Iglesias/Johnny Gargano

-Wale/Jey Uso

-LEGIQN/Zelina Vega

We all competed in tag team matches in round one, and then the winners moved on to the finals (which was an elimination gauntlet with three teams all facing off against one another).

I honestly wasn't confident at all going in, but after seeing a few matches before ours, I started feeling more and more like it could be winnable - and what do you know: Kofi Kingston and I won our first matchup against LEGIQN/Zelina Vega in the most back and forth battle of the tourney….

….and then we immediately went back-to-back and won in the finals, which Brandon Walker was also in (he lost)!

This is wrestling, though, and oftentimes in wrestling - there's a swerve. Tonight was one of those times. On the spot they told us there could be only one champion, and that Kofi and I would have to fight EACH OTHER for the first ever WWE 2k24 Showdown Championship….

They Hunger Games'd our asses! I didn't wanna have to do it to my former best friend/teammate/champion - but I had to, and beat him in the post-finals finals; with a liiiitle bit of help from a fast count by the referee….

Kofi was very gracious in defeat despite me turning heel on him at the drop of a hat and calling him the Marty Janetty of the team, and even hoisted me on his shoulder Macho Man/Miss Elizabeth style, giving us this absurd visual….

It's still not quite as absurd as this video tho….

I don't know what came over me there. Never moved my hips like that in my life. Probably never will again.

You can watch the entire broadcast HERE and I'd highly recommend it if you're a wrestling fan looking for something funny to watch before WrestleMania this weekend. There were tons of hilarious moments like Wale losing in 10 seconds and trying to convince us his controller only had one battery in it.

Shoutout to 2k for having us out this year - they gotta let me know if they want me to defend my title next year!
