Angel Reese Has Declared For The WNBA Draft Because She Says She's Accomplished Everything She Can In College

Ah, damn it. It was nice knowing you, Angel Reese! Because you know what they say.....once you got to the WNBA, people stop caring about you.

Am I crazy or is it better to be a Women's college basketball player than a WNBA player? And I'm not even just talking about money.....even though I'm kinda talking a lot about money.....

When you find out the #1 pick makes the equivalent of a middle aged 3rd grade school teacher:

All jokes aside though, 76K for the #1 pick is insane. Then again, supply and demand! But I'm talking about more than just the base salary. Think about how many stars of women's college basketball we heard about and now don't give a fuck about: Breanna Stewart, Kelsey Plum, Delle Donne, Ionescu, etc etc etc. And maybe Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will change that, but I know I won't be tuned into the Minnesota Lynx games next year. I think both of them should've came back for another season.....Part Three: The Rubber Match.

Unfortunately, both of them disagree. Angel Reese gave her reason as being there's nothing left for her to do.

“I’ve done everything I wanted to in college,” Reese said. “I’ve won a national championship, I’ve gotten [Southeastern Conference] Player of the Year, I’ve been an All-American. My ultimate goal is to be a pro — and to be one of the greatest basketball players to play, ever. I feel like I’m ready.”

Fair enough, but the league will always be there next year too. But if that's what she wants, that's what she wants. Maybe Caitlin and Angel will become Larry and Magic for the next decade....but probably not. It's not like she's going to walk in and be as good as she was these past few years. I mean, I feel like I went a little overboard in my research, but through 3 WNBA Mock Drafts (might need to start making my own), the highest spot she'll go is 7, and the other two had her going 8th. You don't think LSU could match the $73,439 she's going to get paid from Chicago Sky?
