The Videos From The 7.5 Magnitude Earthquake That Struck Taiwan Are Terrifying

Yahoo - A strong earthquake rocked Taiwan early Wednesday, toppling buildings and leaving at least nine dead, dozens of others trapped and nearly 1,000 people injured, officials say.

The magnitude 7.4 earthquake was the most powerful to hit the island in 25 years, damaging buildings, causing landslides and knocking out power for thousands of people.

As far as natural disasters go, earthquakes are about as scary as it gets. It could be a perfectly pleasant day, 65 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, then all of the sudden the entire earth is shaking, buildings come toppling down, and you have no idea how long it's going to last. Thoughts and prayers to the people of Taiwan who have been affected by yesterday's earthquake. The videos coming out of there are terrifying.

The videos on Twitter are seemingly never ending, every one is scary, and I'm addicted to watching them. Not once in my life have I ever experienced even the slightest bit of an earthquake. I want nothing to do with them. Earthquakes are the reason I'll never live in San Francisco. If the big one hits someday, which science tells us it inevitably will, half the city is going to be in the Pacific Ocean.

And apparently in places like Taiwan, after an earthquake of this magnitude strikes, for the next so many hours you have to be on Tsunami watch. Tsunami's might be the only natural disasters scarier that earthquakes.

Again, thoughts and prayers to the people of Taiwan, and shoutout to the first responders who risked their lives to pull people out of buildings, and move them to safety. Nature is crazy.
