Mike Williams Has Officially Been Dropped And It Sucks Ass

Just to run through the timeline of Mike Dub, I was one of the many people skeptical when the Chargers drafted him 7th overall. There were plenty of injury concerns and, even though it's not fair, I held the sins of previous WRs named Mike Williams against him.

After an injury plagued rookie season and lackuster sophomore season, he turned it on big time. Over the next 4 years, he barely missed any time despite getting hurt making some of the craziest catches you'll ever see. For my money's worth, he was one of the best 50/50 ball receivers in the entire game during his run.

And the last highlight is one of my all time favorites. A 2PC to beat the Chiefs.

I remember this happened during the middle of a Barstool Christmas party and I literally sprinted home. Speaking of the Chiefs, one thing I've always appreciated about Williams is that he ALWAYS showed up to play against them. As far as a #2 receiver goes, it's tough to ask more of a guy.

Now the question for the 99.99% of of you reading this: Where does he sign? There are plenty of teams that should take a flyer on him. The Chargers are historically cursed injury-wise, so maybe his next stop could be his healthiest. Plus, the odds are that he won't have a coach that egregiously mishandles his players health….

Anyway, there are a lot of teams that could use his help either as a stopgap #1 or permanent #2. Some immediate ones that come to mind are the Giants, Ravens, Broncos, Chiefs, Pats, or Titans as a #1 and basically any team could use him as a #2. Maybe the Bengals deal Higgins elsewhere and then replace him with another Clemson product, I don't know. He will find a home and I hope he stays healthy and has a ton of success.

NOTE: As I read this, it broke that Khalil Mack is going to stay on the team with a restructured deal.

This is phenomenal news because, of all the big four players that were taking up over half the teams cap this season (Mack, Allen, Williams and Bosa), Mack was by far the healthiest. He proved he has plenty of juice left in the tank and Minter has to be salivated at what he can do with him. Now they just have to find a way to convince David Tepper that Joey Bosa is worth something in a trade…
