Tennis Power Couple: Alex de Minaur Wins Tournament In Mexico Saturday Night Then Flies To San Diego On Sunday To See His Stunning Girlfriend Katie Boulter Win Her Own Title

We're starting off the week acknowledging a strong power couple in the sports world, and that would be Australia's Alex de Minaur and Great Britain's Katie Boulter. Now I know everyone wants to crown Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, but tell me the last time Taylor won a WTA 500 title and beat nothing but players inside the top 50? Yeah didn't think so. Around these parts we praise anything Katie Boulter achieves and any nonsense will not be tolerated.

The couple was split up for their respective tournaments this week across two countries in North America. Alex de Minaur was busy taking down the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jack Draper, and Casper Ruud on his way to an impressive title defense down in Acapulco on Saturday night. Only a few hours after the match, he found himself on a jet to San Diego to see his girlfriend Katie in the finals of San Diego. That's love.

After pulling off the comeback win, she made sure to shout out him out in her celebratory speech to the crowd.

I don't know man, I think that's awesome. Sometimes dating in tennis/sports can be a giant distraction and lead to a decline in results (see Tsitsipas and Badosa currently). In other instances it's a wonderful thing to see like with Agassi and Steffi Graf. Katie Boulter just cracked the top 30 for the first time in her career. Alex de Minaur currently finds himself in the ATP top 10, playing the best tennis of his life. They seem like two respectable, attractive, talented people just doing their thing and having a blast together.

The Aussie has had solid success for a while now, but for Boulter this rise is all new. For a while she struggled to stay on the court and rise in the rankings. She detailed her issues with chronic fatigue syndrome where she'd have trouble finding the energy to get up in the morning and just be a normal human being. Clearly she's found a way to manage it and now we get to see the results. On this program we support Katie Boulter. Sure there's loads of jealousy towards de Minaur, but who am I to object to true love. They seem like they've got a good thing going, I hope it continues. It's Indian Wells week, basically the 5th slam in tennis. Cannot wait.
