Tennis Player Andrey Rublev Controversially DQ'd From Semifinal Match After Apparently Screaming "Fucking Moron" In Line Judge's Face (Translated From Russian By a Separate Snitch Line Judge)

Andrey Rublev and Alexander Bublik were just doing battle over in the semifinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships this morning. The match was extremely close and seemingly ticketed for a deciding tiebreak to see who would advance to the finals. As Rublev's ball sailed long to make it 6-5 Bublik, on serve in the 3rd, the world no. 5 snapped and began screaming at a lines judge. A few minutes later he was defaulted (DQ'd) from the match for apparently calling the lines judge a "fucking moron" in Russian. The video of it all is wild to watch unfold. 

What's crazy is that the supervisor was alerted to all of this from a separate lines judge, not the one who was yelled at. What a snitch! Such a loser move.

Obviously not a great look to be berating a lines judge like this, even if the call did seem wrong. Rublev is a giant hot head on the court. Sweetest fella off of it, but during a match he loses it routinely. Probably the Rico Bosco of tennis if we're doing player comps. 

That being said, unless Rublev threatened that person's family and loved ones or hit them with a ball/racket you can't end the match like that. 6-5 on serve in the 3rd, on the verge of heading to a deciding, all or nothing tiebreak for a spot in the finals and you end it cause he called the judge a "fucking moron" in Russian? God forbid! As if we don't see players yell at refs in any other sport. Give him a point penalty if you want sure. Defaulting him from the match without a warning or anything? And we're just taking the snitch's word for it? That's enough to kick him out of the whole tournament and subsequently the top 5 of the world rankings after the points he went onto lose in the standings. Just tennis doing dumb tennis things. 

Props to his opponent Bublik for wanting to continue the match. Dude was just gifted a ticket to the finals and wanted no part in the handout. I find myself consistently loving anything Bublik does. Shame on the tournament supervisor and that snitch of a lines judge for robbing the fans and players of a great, entertaining finish. Fucking morons.
