Dalton Knecht Outscored Auburn's Entire Team 25-21 Over the Last 12 Minutes of Tennessee's Win Over the Tigers in His Latest Unreal Performance

I am absolutely in love with Dalton Knecht. I think he's my favorite Tennessee athlete ever. This guy is the best player that's ever put on a Vols uniform and I implore anyone who disagrees with that fact to argue with a wall.

Knecht's latest ho-hum 39-point performance came in one of UT's biggest games of the season against Auburn on Wednesday night, when he decided to outscore the entire Tigers team 25-21 by himself over the last 12 minutes of the game. I'd die for this man.

Every time it looks like this Tennessee team is going to fall into one of the Rick Barnes offensive lulls it has been susceptible to in recent years, they just give the ball to No. 3 and he takes care of everything. If Wooden Award voters watched college basketball instead of lauding Zach Edey for being freakishly tall, Knecht would win the award this year. He's a deadeye 3-point shooter, lethal from midrange and one of the best finishers at the basket I've ever seen. But Edey is really tall, so we can't discount that.

None of that really matters, though. All that matters is the most electric basketball player in the country wears orange and white and he's going to lead this team to something special.

It's a crime college basketball let this kid toil at Northern Colorado for years before finding him and bringing him up to the big leagues. Credit to Rick Barnes for seeing the best diamond in the rough in the history of the transfer portal.
