UFC Featherweight Contender Brian Ortega Tells Wild Story Of Making His UFC Debut With $75 In His Bank Account

We were lucky enough to have UFC Star Brian Ortega in studio about a year a half ago before his main event against Yair Rodriguez on Long Island. Unfortunately he injured his shoulder in the first round of that fight, but this Saturday in Mexico City he gets a rematch. I love him as a +125 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook! #DKPartner

This is without question one of my favorite interviews he’s ever done on Spinnin Backfist. He told us this was the first time he had ever told the story publicly and we were all shocked. He’s been a staple in the Top 5 of the UFC FW division for years and had been the closest man to finishing Alexander Volkanovski (until this Saturday obviously). Imagine him just quitting MMA before he really even got started? He’s given MMA fans so many incredible fights and incredible performances and has accomplished so much. He’s fought for UFC FW belt twice, unfortunately losing both but was awarded bonuses for “Fight of the Night” in both. Would have been an absolute shame if we never got to see his career blossom. The Butterfly effect of life really is so wild. Not to mention imagine the feeling of waking up with $75, getting into a fist fight with a stone cold killer on less than two weeks notice and then going to bed that night with $75k? What a feeling. We should have asked him if he ever bought those Jordans. Watch the full interview here.

Also we did a full breakdown and gave our favorite bets/picks for this weekends UFC Mexico City card and the PFL vs Bellator card! Check it out here and follow/subscribe on all of our platforms! Can find all lines at DraftKings Sportsbook! #DKPartner
