Motivation: WVU Player Says Rick Pitino Threatened To 'Chop Him Up In 7 Pieces And Send Him Back Home' Because He Didn't Box Out In Practice At Iona

Hell yes. I hope every former player comes out with a Rick Pitino story like this. Listen, Quinn Slazinski says it right off the bat. It was out of love! Can't get mad at anyone saying something after that. It's like insulting someone after 'with all due respect' or 'not to be mean', it's a pass. Plus, who cares? This is a threat to get someone to box out. You know how important boxing out is? That's preached at the rink basketball level let alone college.

The funniest part is for sure Pitino having no idea where Slazinski is from - Houston. He starts with Detroit. Not sure how his mind went there. But you know when you're pissed off and just start ranting and things go off the rails, that's what happened to Pitino here. Surprised he didn't start listing the top-100 cities by size in America just to prove a point.

I don't want to know you if you get pissed off at this. I already know there are people out there bitching about Pitino saying this, but look at the kid laugh! He knows it was a joke, maybe. He also knows it's motivation. We're talking about practice. If you can't box out in practice how the hell can you be trusted to do it against Siena or Rider? Pitino one step ahead again. Remember, also, Pitino is used to crazy before Iona:

He also set the tone the moment he walked into Iona's practice

Let this be a lesson to anyone who wants to play major college basketball. If you don't box out at practice you might have threats of being chopped up into 7 pieces. That's how you become better. Plus, it's all out of love. That's how you become one of the 5 best coaches of all time.
