JOHNNY HEATERS WANTS THE FUCKING TROPHY BACK!

Love to love it. How lucky are us Phillies fans to have an owner who actually cares and wants to win above all else? It's amazing. Granted, it helps when said owner grew up a Phillies die-hard and used his family's generational tobacco money to buy a piece of his hometown franchise. There's too many fanbases who are hopelessly stuck with an awful owner for a variety of reasons. They could be a huge dickbag - James Dolan. Cheap - A's owners. Beyond racist - Donald Sterling. Walking corpse - Jerry Jones. Or absolutely off their rocker - Jim Irsay.

John Middleton is a simple man who loves his baseball team and wants to win for his city. And it couldn't be any more beautiful. Especially when he's given Dave Dombrowski full reign to spend whatever it takes to win a championship. "Stupid Money" was the phrase used a few years back. Now while the money may still be stupid, they're at least using it in the correct ways. Even when it doesn't land:

Good gravy this is it. Even whiffing on Yamamoto (he's like 5'9, btw), it sends the correct message. John Middleton is doing everything he can to putting a championship ballclub on the diamond. I'm extremely pleased with him letting the players know what to expect. The last two seasons jumped off to a shit start. Can't happen this year. Not when the Dodgers are projecting to win 103.5, the Diamondbacks still exist, and the Braves are salivating for another opening round loss while blaming it on the playoff format.

Again, love to love it. Now there's only one thing left to do. Win the whole f'ing thing. Red October is only 8 months away…
