'Fucking Losing Like This. Terrible.' - Penny Hardaway Is Delusional About Memphis, Blames His Players For Getting Their Ass Kicked By SMU

This is far from the first time Penny has said this Memphis team hates each other, they all quit and they basically roll over and die whenever it's tough.

I mean, sure, he's not wrong. These players have quit. During yesterday's ass kicking you had a bunch of people who work the Memphis beat talking about players quitting. John is as locked into Memphis as anyone and basically called out Jahvon Quinerly: 

The fact is this is just Memphis under Penny. He screams about how they are disrespected in the preseason. He talks like Memphis is a Final Four threat every single year. The fanbase starts to buy in and next thing you know they are fighting just to get in the NCAA Tournament. This team is talented. The problem is Penny refuses or can't find a way to get them to buy in and you know, just play as a team. Everything is let me get mine or roll over and die. 

You can blame players, fine by me. But you're the coach. Shouldn't you bench those players who quit? Send a message of some sort. Don't just bring in 10 new guys every single year who can't buy into whatever you're trying to do at Memphis? This is year 6 for Penny. He has 1 NCAA Tournament win. Shit, he's only made the Tournament twice. It's not like he's lacked talent either. He brings in plenty of well-known names, maybe, just MAYBE, the coaching is a problem too. 

Just hate to see it. If Penny wants to run his mouth about wanting all the smoke and being disrespected by the AP poll, you should probably win a couple games that matter. Fact is Memphis is just a bubble team at max with Penny there. This was supposed to be his best team and they are ranked 90th, his lowest ever. I agree though. It's terrible.
