By the time that most players have their jersey retired by teams, they've already wrapped up all the highlights they'll have in their career. You go back and watch all the great moments they had in their past, and then call it a night.
But Jaromir Jagr isn't just any ordinary player. This man is 52-years-old and he's still as legendary as he was when he was 25. Speaking of 25, that's probably the age of his new girlfriend.

What a quote. What a legend. And to be fair, Jaromir Jagr's last season in Pittsburgh was 2000-01. How old are kids before they can actually truly start remembering shit? 6 or 7? So maybe she's a little closer to 30, but if I know Jaromir Jagr like I think I do then there's no chance. The man wheels like it's nobody's business. It must be the fountain of youth that has kept him going this long.
And speaking of going this long, it looks like Jags could still have another 10 years on his career by the way he looked out there last night. He's 52-years-old but the man is still playing professional hockey over in Czechia, and he can't afford for some little ceremony in Pittsburgh to take him off his training. So after all the speeches, he figured he'd get a few laps in with the boys during warmups.
First of all, great touch by the Penguins to come up with the mullet wigs. You don't often see Sidney Crosby do anything at all to mess with his pregame routine, but a legend like Jags is worth making a few minor adjustments.

But there was just never any way that Jaromir Jagr was going to go the entire day without getting on the ice. The man is addicted to the game. He might be 52 but he still moves around better than most 25-year-olds out there.

Bring this man back around for the rest of the year. One last dance for 68. The Penguins still have at least one more game against 7 out of the other 8 teams Jagr played for in his career. Give him one last game against the Caps, Rangers, Flyers, Stars, Bruins, Devils and Flames. He has enough left in the tank to, at the very least, not be a liability out there. And if he ever needs any nights off, just throw him up in the broadcast booth.
