Leon Rose Did The Damn Thang Yet Again By Landing Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks In A Trade For Quentin Grimes, Evan Fournier, And Filler

I have a lot of thoughts about a trade that had a lot of moving parts and was announced really weirdly on Twitter, likely due to the way the NBA's CBA is setup. I will also never call Twitter "X" and I will definitely never call it "X, formerly known as Twitter".

Okay, here are some quick hitter thoughts on this trade:

- First of all, shame on all the people that were shitting on Leon Rose before the full terms of the trade were announced. I know seeing Quentin Grimes being traded in a trade centered around Alec Burks didn't look great. But I think the guy who drafted Grimes at the end of the first round gets the benefit of the doubt, just like he should have when he traded another guy he traded at the end of the first round (Immanuel Quickley) in the OG deal.

- I really wish Quentin Grimes was better. Don't get me wrong, I've really liked Grimes since he was drafted and used my dumb Knicks brain to convince myself he was going to be the next Klay Thompson. But unfortunately he has looked like this year's Klay more than prime Klay and if the Knicks front office that has built this team didn't think they needed to keep him longterm, I'm fine moving him even if he's roughly a decade younger than the guys the Knicks are getting back.

- That being said, Grimes will forever have the love of The Garden for making this play in the playoffs.

I truly hope Grimes flourishes in Detroit. Once a Knick, always a Knick. Or whatever James Dolan says in order to get former Knicks to come back to MSG once they forget how much of a dick he is.

- For the Knicks side of the trade, it's pretty cool they can now shoot the lights out like Hans Gruber's henchmen.

Bet you didn't think I'd lump a Die Hard reference into a Knicks trade blog, did you? But that's the movie I always bring up when I'm excited.

- Getting more good players for Thibs and his notorious tight rotations seems like it could lead to a problem later in the season if the Knicks ever get healthy. But this trade may have been due to the Knicks worrying about how healthy they will actually be.

Not great! Raptors fans said we would love OG but he does get some rough nagging injuries. Instead of worrying about this, I am going to jam my brain with stats to make me happy.

- Josh Hart isn't kidding when he tweeted this because there's a better than great chance he plays 48 minutes tonight even with his knee being banged up for a while.

- I will miss having Evan Fournier's mythical contract on the books just because it was so amazing seeing all the made up trades where the Knicks got good players for a guy like Fournier.

- The Knicks need to do whatever is necessary to bring back Ryan Arcidiacono. The juju in the locker room right now is as good as it gets and I need all the Nova magic we can get. If that means signing Mike Nardi next, so be it.

- In the same vein, goodbye Evil Donte DiVincenzo and thanks for all the memes.

- I truly cannot fathom how the Knicks made two trades for three legit players that improved their team and didn't give up a single first round pick.

- In Leon We Trust. Always.
