Chad Johnson Claims He's Been Hired By The Las Vegas Raiders

Daily Caller - “Ochocinco” took to Instagram, saying Wednesday that he “got a job” with the Las Vegas Raiders, and then to make things even more interesting, current head coach Antonio Pierce went on X to back up Johnson’s claims.

“Yes, I got a job with the Raiders,” said Johnson originally on Instagram Live, according to Sports Illustrated’s Fan Nation. “Not as a staff member but as a member of the organization. I’m not sure what it is exactly … but I will be a part of the team and that’s an amazing thing.”

Later, Johnson claimed — featured with a photo of both him and Pierce — that he is “officially a member of the Raiders coaching staff.” Then, he took to X to joke around about a friend who didn’t believe him when he said he “got hired,” posting a screenshot of a text exchange that showed the claim of him being hired by Las Vegas.

Chad Johnson has long been one of my favorite people on the internet. He's was balls deep in Twitter back when there were only 140 characters, and before the site had been overrun by OnlyFans models touting gambling picks. He was always positive, never took himself too seriously, and was just crazy enough that he was amatuliable to tweet some crazy shit at any time.

I'm pretty sure he did amateur porn one as well. I can't find any hard evidence of that online, but he claims it happened. Then above all, I appreciate Chad Johnson being a champion of fast food. The man spent his whole career eating fast food and almost never missed a game. Which is great because whenever I go through a stretch of eating like shit, I just think of Chad Johnson and immediately feel better about myself.. Ignore the small fact that he trained every day like an NFL player and was born in the top 1% of 1% of 1% of athletic freaks. If Ochocinco can live healthy off double cheeseburgers than so can I.

I'm curious as to what the Raiders have in mind for Chad. According to him he doesn't even know what he was hired for. I'd have to imagine he helps out with the receivers. Although it's been made unclear whether or not he's technically a part of the coaching staff. If I were the Raiders I'd put him in some sort of Caleb Pressley-style director of morale role. Chad Johnson is best used as a vibes guy. The man oozes fun and confidence. Just have him hang around the locker room to keep the mood light, and make sure you don't let him speak to any refs. I feel like he's liable to get a penalty from the sidelines at any moment.

I also think it's possible that Chad Johnson is simply angling for a roster spot. The whole thing could be a long con on his part. I know he thinks he can still play. How many practices until he's lining up for receiver drills and yelling at Antonio Pierce about how he should be the WR2? It seems like that might be inevitable.

Finally, any time Chad Johnson is in the news it's a great excuse to watch his highlight tape. One of the best tapes in the NFL. Dude was always open.
