The A's Are Doing Buy A "Buy One Get One Free" Ticket Promo On Opening Day In Hopes To Fight Off Their Fans Boycotting

Opening Day tickets at most MLB ballparks are super hard to get. If your team is bad it's usually the only time a year that you get to boas and brag about a full sellout crowd, never easy to find tickets to these first games. It's basically a holiday for your team, Opening Day tickets are sacred. So that is why it's so wild that the Oakland Athletics are doing a ticket promo on Opening Day where if you buy a ticket, you'll get another ticket for free. An Opening Day BOGO is unheard of! You just don't see BOGO offers at any professional sporting event, let alone on Opening Day! You may wonder why they are even offering BOGO and having trouble getting they fans to actually come to the game? Most teams have already sold out of Opening Day tickets, so why not Oakland?

Well the whole moving thing reallllly rubbed their fans the wrong way so they decided to boycott Opening Day. I thought they had been officially boycotting for a few years now, couldn't tell the difference.  This year a group called "Oakland 68" is pairing up with "The Last Dive Bar" to throw this boycott in the parking lots so that Oakland Owner John Fisher doesn't keep making money. Come party, have an Opening Day get together all without giving the Oakland franchise anymore of your money!

They're calling for the boycott no matter what offers the A's throw in the fan's face, like free tickets. The protesting group is calling for fans to hold their ground, don't bend the knee for the BOGO offer from the mega rich owner who is taking the team away from you! Go party and drink in the parking lot with your friends or take advantage of an incredible deal and go watch the team that is leaving you shortly regardless of if you protest or not? Tough choice.

The ticket promo is only available until Friday the 9th so if you are in the Oakland Area and actually want to watch the Athletics take on the Guardians you better go now. Most expensive ticket you can buy with the promo is the lower field level ticket for $30. $30 for 2 tickets to an Opening Day game on the lower field level is just a fantastic deal, can't beat that price anywhere. I truly can't wait to see what the attendance is on Opening Day and what the scene is like. How big is this protest going to get? Couple thousand? Will MLB try and hide it like they did with the sale signs last year?

I do like that the fan group is also organizing donations to "Schools Over Stadiums", a group that is raising funds so they can block the public funding that was promised by the Nevada State Legislature to the Athletics. They're urging anyone who didn't buy season tickets to donate some of the money towards this cause. This should be an absolutely wild year in Oakland for this franchise and fans, I legit have no clue what to expect. Have to love them giving the owner a piece of their mind, but at the end of the day the team is moving. It's happening, it's been voted on. It'll be interesting to see how the fans continue these protests and boycotts throughout the season as they move closer and closer to leaving the Coliseum for good.

PS. Kinda want to go to this game now.
