Before John Angelos Sold The Orioles He Reportedly Agreed To Sell Camden Yards' Naming Rights To T. Rowe Price And Didn't Bother To Tell Them He Was Selling The Team Just Days Later

John Angelos man, the guy just keeps getting funnier and funnier. Last week Angelos reached an agreement to sell the Orioles yet he still can't stop making himself part of the story and is still providing us with some incredible content. An article from the Wall Street Journal says that John Angelos had recently come to an agreement with T. Rowe Price for the naming rights to Camden Yards. The whole time he was negotiating this deal with the investment firm to put their name on the ballpark he was ALSO working on selling the team and dipping out of here. Classic double dip!

Why not sell off the naming rights for the ballpark you are about to lose? Best part about this was T. Rowe Price learned about the sale of the Orioles at the exact same time as we all did. Angelos gave no heads up to T. Rowe Price OR the Governor of Maryland that he was just days away from selling the team. Legit hilarious that he was doing this. Making major decisions that impact the future of the team all while signing the papers to sell. The ultimate Magic Johnson "I'm not gone be there" GIF.

Just an all-time snake move by a guy who can't clean out his office quick enough. I mean this was so close to being done they had the press release written and ready to be announced yesterday! As each day passes I'm more and more seeing the similarities between John Angelos running the Orioles and Gob Bluth at the Bluth Company.

No one knows what's going to happen with the name of the ballpark, I think T. Rowe Price is pretty shocked by the whole thing and trying to figure out what to do next. One day they thought they were going to be working with Peter Angelos and have their name plastered all over the ballpark and now the guy is basically gone. It's just so Angelos, I really can't think of anything more Angelos than this.

The article also says that many MLB and other Maryland state officials had no clue about the status of negotiations and the status of the sale. Angelos just wanted to pull one last Punk'd skit on the team. I mean no one is complaining he sold the team, it's what we all want. It's just such a John Angelos move to tell the governor you won't sell the team, sign a lease, and then 2 months later have the sale happen. That is how John Angelos plays ball. Just one last middle finger and DX suck it sign to the Orioles and their fans by little boy Johnny before he heads out.
