Love Seeing Lions GM Brad Holmes Not Give A Shit At His Press Conference And Call Out The Local Reporters For All Their Wrong Takes About The Team

I can't believe I saw tweets saying he shouldn't have done this. You kidding? The Lions just had their best season in the Super Bowl era, plenty of people doubted them or said they made bad picks. I don't get the Sewell one though, he was a pick everyone loved. But the fact is if reporters are going to call out the team for shitty picks and it works out, the team should have every right to throw it back in their face.

I also know that people are expecting the Lions to fall off. I don't get it. It's not like this is an older team led by a quarterback past his prime. You either spend money to keep Jared Goff or you find someone close to that. We're a collapse, a couple drops by Josh Reynolds and a defense unable to get a stop away from talking about the Lions in the Super Bowl. I don't care if you think it's a Cinderella run, there's no reason to think they can't run it back. The question is just can they figure it out (mostly on defense) to make a Super Bowl.

This is what a GM should do if reporters had these sort of takes about your players. Who gives a shit? You should only care about your players and coaches. Oh no, a reporter might write something mean? Big deal, unless you start losing. Then fans will start to call for your head. But this is the Lions we're talking about. It's a long way from fans getting pissed at Holmes and Campbell.

I'm sure people will call this lame and keeping receipts is weird. Who gives a shit? I'd rather have a guy be honest and say things like this than the same old boring shit we get. If it bites him in the ass, so be it, but it's better this way than 'well, you know, we're going to keep trying to find guys.'
