Adam Schefter Says That The Widely Held Consensus Is That The Bears Will Draft Williams and Trade Justin Fields

Probably 50% of the fan base will be acting like that lady when Trump took office

We all wanted it to be Fields. I spent the better part of three years trying to convince myself that Fields was the guy we've been waiting for, but he just isn't that definitively. Whatever you think of Caleb Williams, Fields hasn't done enough to warrant the big extension so from a financial stand point the Bears have to move on and reset the clock. 

The quote from Schefter said that it was a consensus around the league. Matches up with the reporting from others. 

You'd have to guess that the timeline for a Fields trade will probably be right in line with the NFL Combine. Some talks will happen this week and then it's probably full speed ahead trying to convince other teams that Fields is a better option than Jayden Daniels, Penix, or Bo Nix. 

Sad ending for Fields in Chicago. I don't know why we all, myself included, have this emotional connection to Fields, but we do. Fields has fewer wins as a Bear than Orton, Grossman, and Jim Miller. And yet, he is loved here. 

I am just ready to move on from the discussion. I want the Bears to get this done so we can just move forward and try to get excited for the future. Hope that a top QB and another top 10 pick will lead to a year like we saw the Texans have.
