We Got Our Guy: Dan Quinn Is The New Head Coach Of The Commies
We got our guy! As I said all along, Dan Quinn was always the number 1 choice for the job. I know all Commies fans said that exact thing, we never wanted Ben Johnson or Bobby Slowik, it was always Dan Quinn's job to lose.
Jokes aside, he has a great resume and is respected across the lead as both a coach and a leader. He took the Falcons to the Super Bowl in just his 2nd season as head coach (can't remember what happened in that game, probably wasn't his fault they lost though). He's been crushing it as the Cowboys defensive coordinator the last 3 years, and now gets another head coaching gig.
Obviously it's not the sexiest hire. I, along with a lot of other fans, pine for the hot-shot, young offensive-minded coach a la Kyle Shanahan or Mike McDaniel. It's an offense-heavy league and I always have thought its best to have a bright young mind who will be able to build a roster, develop the skill positions, and be around for a while. Because even if you hire exactly that at the OC position, you risk losing him the following year to a head coaching gig.
I guess I'm just glad this process is over and we have our 3 Infinity Stones in place- new owner, new GM, new head coach. And with the 2nd pick in the draft we should select our new QB. It will be a rebuilding process for sure, but with the right guys in place hopefully it's not as painful as the 20-year rebuild we've been sitting through, aka Dan Snyder destroying our wills to live.
Welcome to DC, Dan Quinn!
