Vladimir Tarasenko Got to Spend His Weekend Kissing A Bunch Of Hockey Moms

Things haven't necessarily gone great for Vladimir Tarasenko since signing his 1-year deal with the Ottawa Senators over the summer. I'd imagine the idea of signing with Ottawa was that he'd join a good, young team that he could either help lead to the playoffs, or he'd be surrounded with enough talent to put up a bunch of points and earn himself one last big contract to close out his career.

Unfortunately, the Senators are still awful this year and his numbers haven't been out of this world. He'll probably end up getting traded at some point by the trade deadline so Ottawa can at least get something in return for him. But luckily for Tarasenko, that trade won't happen until after the Mom's trip.

The moms were in the barn yesterday as the Ottawa Senators came back from being down 3-1 to beat the Flyers 5-3. It was a lifeless 2nd and 3rd period from the Flyers as they pissed the puck and game away all afternoon. And in the end, it was Tarasenko putting the final dagger in the Flyers with this snipe to take their first lead of the game.

Vintage Tarasenshow. The type of goal that a contender would be willing to give up a 1st round pick to grab for a playoff push. But more importantly--the type of goal that gets the moms going.

Now a true reporter would follow up with some more developing details here. On the lips? Tongue? For how long? These are pertinent questions that deserve answers. But either way, that's not a bad little weekend for Vladimir Tarasenko. I know things haven't been going great for him this season, so it has to feel nice to get things going for him here. A game-winning goal and getting to kiss all your teammates' moms on the lips? That's what the game is all about.

Sidenote: I'd stay away from Mrs. Tkachuk just based on the fact that I wouldn't want to deal with Big Walt after the fact.
