Guy Complains About Tip Culture In Miami And Says He Was Forced To Tip Before Getting His Cup Of Coffee

Wake up babe, the tip culture argument is going viral on Twitter again! Tipping culture is one of the Internet's oldest debates at this point. Every few weeks someone makes a video about how they got a service charge for something they didn't want to pay extra for, and then you've got an all out war between the "tip service industry workers you scumbags" and the "tipping shouldn't be required or expected" crowd.

I probably don't agree with Nate on conservatively 99.9% of takes in this world, but I remember a blog from a long time ago where he discussed what should be appropriate to tip and what shouldn't be:

Maybe the worst thumbnail I've ever seen but I digress. The only thing I disagree with is Nate leaving a $5 bill for the housekeepers who tidy up the rooms. Five dollars? What are they supposed to do with that in this economy? Tip a twenty you poor! Delivery is a no brainer. If you don't tip on that you're a scumbag. Moving company and furniture should be in as well. Anyone who lives in NYC or a big city knows how horrible moving is. You don't have the luxury of moving out of a giant house with a moving truck pulled into your driveway with all the time in the world. If there's a time you should tip and tip hard, it's during a move.

Then you have Dante:

He also gets it. A couple of cents by pressing that iPad 10% button or whatever when you order up your coffee SHOULD be societal norm. This fella thinks it's exclusive to Miami. The simple solution? Become more like Europe and pay people a decent wage so it isn't required. Of course that nice restaurant in Italy didn't take your extra dollars. But until that happens, click that button and give a few extra cents clowns.
