Generational Icon: 92 Year Old Woman Sets World Record For Water Skiing
UPI - A Utah woman who has been water skiing since 1961 was officially dubbed the world's oldest female water skier at age 92. Dwan Jacobsen Young of Fish Haven said she started water skiing on Lake Bear when she was 29 years old, and now she is joined on her outings by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Let's check that birth certificate. This little minx doesn't look a day over 80.
Her friend's wakes aren't the only wake she's tearing up, Dwan Young has set the Guinness World Record for oldest water skier at 92. It's been a week where old dudes are realizing it's time to make an exit from the game they love and retiring at old age of 72, meanwhile this 92 year old great-grandma is still at the pinnacle of the water skiing game and showing no signs of slowing down. This is an incredible accomplishment. My grandpa is 92 and sitting in a chair is a chore, simply existing hurts his bones. After a walk to the mail box he's surpassed his physical exertion limit for the day, while Dwan is out here participating in extreme water sports. An interesting fact is the oldest male water skier is also 92. There must be a sweet spot at 92 where your bones don't turn to dust the second you hit a wave.

I've always said I'd want to die around the age of 80, long before I start to completely lose mobility, and the ability to remember my own family members names, but Dwan is giving me hope that your 90's aren't that bad. The second they put you in a nursing home, it's over. The freedoms you once new as an adult are gone, and you're back to living under someone's super vision like you're a child. Nothing bums me out more than seeing old lonely people in a nursing home. My mom tried to tell me the old people are happy because they get to hang around other old people, but I feel like that's a lie, in fact I know it's a lie after watching this interview with 110 year old Flossie Dickey, a woman who couldn't be more fed up with living based off this interview.
When this reporter asks Flossie if she's excited about her birthday party and Flossie hits her with a "Not one bit" it's hilarious, but you know being 110 is less of a gift for Flossie and more of a prison sentence. The only good thing about being old is you can get away with being 100% honest. Zero faking nice so you won't hurt people's feelings, just let the truth bombs fly. If you've never seen this interview, do yourself a favor and watch. Old people rule, even the one's that can't do a 360 on water skis.
