Will Howard Transferred To Ohio State And Fifteen Minutes Later Said "Beating That Team Up North Is Priority #1"
I love it and I hate it. I absolutely love it and I fucking hate it. That's my official response to Will Howard already talking Michigan game before he sat down for a cup of coffee on campus. I mean, he literally announced his commitment to Ohio State via Twitter at precisely 7:07 PM Eastern Standard Time, and by 8:05, he was calling Michigan "The Team Up North" and calling it priority #1 to beat them. It fires me up and it pisses me off.
Love:
He seems to understand how important this game is to the 11.7 million citizens of the great state of Ohio. And when I say "how important", I literally mean the only fucking thing we care about. I mean, we just ran the last QB out of town for losing ONE GAME in his entire career. Kyle McCord will go down as the QB with the highest winning percentage in the history of the entire program. Well, unless Will Howard goes 15-0 and rides off into the sunset. But the point is that no one cares about the 12 other wins when you've got a big fat L next to the Michigan game. Now, I get I may not be speaking for everyone in the entire state, but me personally, I'd rather win the Michigan game than the National Championship. Last year, when we lost to Michigan but were one horrible missed targeting call on Marvin Harrison Jr away from winning the title, I would not have been happy. Maybe it's just me, but I would've rather gone 1-11 this year and beaten those motherfuckers than 11-1. Punched our ticket to the Cotton Bowl though!
Point being, I'm glad that he hasn't come in here thinking that the goal list starts with anything
Hate:
Buddy just played 4 years somewhere else. He grew up in Pennsylvania and has lived in fucking Kansas ever since. This kid probably didn't even know Ohio State and Michigan were rivals until about 4:00 pm yesterday, but now he fucking hates them! Can't stand the colors maize and blue! Won't even say their name out loud!!! Give me a fucking break....
The amount of "inject this into my veins" replies from Ohio State fans makes me fucking sick. This is the problem with our program right now. We've got a Coach from New Hampshire trying to instill the hatred of an entire state into his team of players from all across the globe. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we don't take the best players in the country. That's obviously a stupid plan. But I'm not against a requirement to hold the head coaching position at The Ohio State University to be having grown up in the state of Ohio.
Point being, I do want Will Howard to acknowledge that he understands the assignment this year. I think him calling them "The Team Up North" before even enrolling in the university sounds silly. If I was Michigan, I would start laughing. Wait, they're probably still laughing from when Pennsylvania's finest Kyle McCord said the Michigan game was "just one game". So instead of starting to laugh at Ohio State, I'd continue to laugh at Ohio State.
My response for the next QB or big time player that transfers in here to use when asked anything:
"Beat Michigan. I am aware that there 11.7 million citizens of this state, and they demand that Ohio State beats Michigan every single year. I'm not going to act like I grew up here or that one day I woke up and Michigan is such a disgusting word to me that I can't even say it, but I'm going to prepare and work like it is. I'm here to make the great state of Ohio proud. And I know there's only one way to do that: Beat Michigan"
