In the Least Surprising Story You'll Hear in 2024, a Server Accuses Brittany Mahomes of Stiffing Her on a $130 Tab

It's with some trepidation that I bring you this story. Partly because when your attention is constantly being drawn by the gravitational pull that is Patrick Mahomes' fame, the best targets in orbit around him are Jackson Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Brittany Mahomes just barely makes the medal stand in The Mahomes Obnoxious Celebrity Olympics.

Second, when you have a profile as high as the semi-notorious wife of the face of the NFL and all its corporate sponsors, people will say negative things. That is the muddy undercarriage of fame that no amount of rustproofing warrant at the dealership will wash away. (Note: I realize I'm barely 100 words into this and I've already mixed three metaphors. I'll try to make that my limit.) People are free to say whatever they want on social media, and accusations are not proof.

That said, listen to this Los Angeles area server, who claims to have waited on Brittany's party when she was in LA shopping for a wedding dress and ask yourself if she passes your own personal Credibility Test:

As a general rule, I practice the old adage that you should believe none of what you hear and half of what you see. When I comes to social media, I try to drop that last percentage down to zero. And when it's TikTok, even less than zero. I go onto that app assuming every person looking back at me is an AI creation of the Chinese Communist Party with the intention of ripping apart the social fabric of the Decadent West.

And yet I detect no lies in this young lady's eyes, her voice, her mannerisms. I'm buying what she's selling here for a couple of reasons.

First, because it's not a stretch to believe Mrs. Mahomes was (her words), "just genuinely unpleasant." Or that she'd never (her words again) "treat someone in a position lesser than them" at all well. Based on her behavior during years in the public spotlight, it's a safe assumption that Brittany would be a nightmare to people in the service industry. Third, and by no means least, she definitely gives off the vibe of an insecure narcissist who'd deeply, deeply resent being in the presence of someone who is more attractive then her. And objectively speaking, this TikTokker is at least 3 to 3.5 points higher on the looks scale. So it's a fair guess that the claws were out from the moment she came to the table and introduced herself to Mahomes' "posse."

Speaking of attractive blondes, the irony of a (allegedly) Brittany Mahomes showing up to a place for a the better part of the week without tipping the hard working people who served her group, the one she's been seeing a lot of over this football season has been busy earning and solidifying the exact opposite reputation:

Source - Taylor Swift tips in $100 bills.

The “Cruel Summer” singer, who was in Massachusetts for boyfriend Travis Kelce’s football game, was seen tipping Gillette Stadium staff employees very generously Sunday.

A photo posted by a fan on social media shows the pop star handing several large bills to a staff member in the kitchen.

The pic went viral shortly after Swift, 34, watched Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs defeat the New England Patriots 27-17 from a private box. She’s believed to have handed the cash to her suite’s food runners.

I say again, this is just one person on TikTok saying this. One who might actually be a bot. And even Brittany Mahomes deserves the same innocent-until-proven-guilty her inspid brother-in-law just benefited from:

I post this not because I know it to be true. But because I believe it's true. I would like it to be true. And just knowing it's out there so soon after Swift cemented her reputation as a generous tipper to all she comes in contact with will make those insufferable cutaways to the owner's box at Chiefs games all the more interesting.
