Power Ranking The 5 Most Evil Things Eric Cartman Has Ever Done

Eric Cartman is one of the greatest characters in all fiction. He is a despicable, rotten little fat boy, who is vulgar, rude, and just downright nasty. And yet, you just can't ignore the guy. There's this weird spell that the show has over people where you start to root for Cartman. With that said, there are certain instances in which he is completely irredeemable. I've been watching a lot of "South Park" lately, so I figured I'd recap his five most evil moments throughout the show's history.

5- Cartman gets his therapist's wife to commit suicide in "TMI" (Season 15, episode 4)

This might be the most controversial one on the list. There are many other ones that I could've gone with. I feel like his performance and the "Ginger Kids" episode might be a glaring omission, but this moment always stood out to me. It's just so cold. Cartman is just an evil little fucker. Typically, Eric tends to be very boisterous and loud in his big moments, but he comes across like he's Hannibal Lecter here. Cartman does a lot of fucked up shit throughout "South Park," but he rarely ever resorts to cold-blooded murder. This was one of those rare times when he legitimately went there. It's dark, but it's very funny.

4- Cartman exploits Kenny's death for the sake of stem cell research in "Kenny Dies" (Season 5, episode 12)

This is famous for being the episode where Kenny dies. Like, he actually dies, but the setup is that Cartman finds a truckload of aborted fetuses and tries to make money off of them. This is one of those "South Park" episodes that is legitimately emotional. But in classic "South Park" fashion, when you peel back the layers, it really does have something to say about hot-button issues. The episode features some vintage Cartman moments. Him on the phone trying to sell these aborted fetuses to different clinics is hysterical. "I'm just like the fetuses Chuck. I wasn't born yesterday either," is one of his best lines.

3- Cartman gives Kyle HIV in "Tonsil Trouble" (Season 5, episode 1)

More than any television show, "South Park" has a way of taking the most horrific things and turning them into hilarity. That's what happens in this episode. While getting a tonsillectomy, Cartman somehow ends up getting HIV. Whoever thought it was a good idea to dress him up like Tom Hanks in "Philadelphia" is a genius. Out of spite, he ends up giving the disease to Kyle. All is well that ends well, as both of them find a cure with the help of Magic Johnson.

2- Cartman pretends to be mentally challenged to compete in the Special Olympics in "Up The Down Steroid" (Season 8, episode 2)

This one pretty much speaks for itself. Again, this is an all-time great episode. This is also a unique moment because it's one of the few times Kyle steps in and tries to be Eric Cartman's moral compass for once. Even he can't accept how evil Cartman's actions are at this moment. Cartman eventually gets what's coming to him when he ends up finishing last in every event, though he wins a gift certificate to "Shakey's."

1- Cartman turns Scott Tenorman parents into chili and feeds them to him in "Scott Tenorman Must Die" (Season 5, episode 4)

Yeah, this has to be number one. I brought up earlier about how Cartman could come across like Hannibal Lecter; well, there's nothing that gives off greater serial killer vibes than chopping up a guy's parents, turning them into chili, and feeding it to him.I feel like this was a turning point for the show. It was the moment Cartman went from that little troublemaker to downright sadistic freak. It's also one of the few episodes in which Cartman wins at the end. The final reveal is genuinely creepy. This is one of the ultimate "South Park" episodes, and a big reason for it is how it subverts your expectations. After this episode, nobody wanted to fuck with Eric Cartman. If they did, bad things would happen.
