It's genuinely disturbing to follow the Wander Franco situation, but unfortunately things somehow keep getting worse. An article published on ESPN.com yesterday gave us a little insight to what's happening within the Dominican courts.

(ESPN) Dominican prosecutors on Wednesday accused Wander Franco of commercial sexual exploitation and money laundering following allegations that the Tampa Bay Rays shortstop had a relationship with a minor whose mother also faces the same charges.

Prosecutors requested that a judge hold Franco on an $86,000 bond, bar him from leaving the Dominican Republic and place him under house arrest. They noted that the money laundering charges stem from allegations that Franco made payments to the minor's mother.

Prosecutors also asked that the judge prohibit the minor's mother from leaving the country and place her under house arrest.

Sadly it seems like the story is a lot more than just Wander Franco and this 14 year old girl. It not only involves the minor's mom, but his own mother as well…

Fucking insane. So the prosecution is alleging that this minor's mom was essentially using her young daughter to reel in money for her own family. Sadly this kind of thing isn't uncommon in developing countries as disgusting as it sounds. The report also alleges Franco's mom knew about all of this and was helping her son make payments throughout the whole process.

There's more information on the mother of the minor here.

All of this is so bad. The way I see it everyone has to go to jail and then you have to throw away the key. Of course Franco needs to be done, but her mom as well for essentially pimping out the daughter. Both the moms for that matter if what's being accused is true. There's a special place in hell for these people. Every headline somehow gets worse. Just when you think it's over, there's more.

Franco remains in jail and his next step will be determined tomorrow when the judge makes a ruling on how to proceed. To think this all started with Wander laughing at the initial allegations with his teammates in the Rays clubhouse.

It's obviously unimportant to think about the sports side here, but this was a 22 year old budding superstar who had just signed an 11 year extension with Tampa. Now you're looking at a pedophile who threw his entire life away and ruined someone else's. What an absolute nightmare for everyone involved.
