Joel Embiid Becomes The First Player In NBA History To Record A Triple-Double While Housing Jolly Ranchers On The Court

Let's get one thing straight. If Joel Hans Embiid wants to eat candy on the court during a live basketball game, Joel Hans Embiid is going to eat candy on the court of a live basketball game.

That's the beauty of being the MVP. Jimmy Johnson said it best when he was coaching the Dallas Cowboys in the '90's - If a scout team player falls asleep during a meeting, SEE YA! Insta cut from the squad (Charles Haley jerking off in front of everybody, like, every day, not so much, but that's another story about 'Dem Boyz). But if it was Emmitt Smith who decided to take a snooze during film? JJ was getting him a pillow. Same deal here. No offense to Furkan (I think), but if he started housing M&M's or unwrapping Clark Bars on the way into the game then it's obviously going to be an issue. But Joel? Get that man all the Green Apple Jollies he wants for gametime and have a few dozen Shirley Temples waiting on the bench to delightfully wash it all down - EXTRA GRENADINE. In fact, don't limit it to candy. If JoJo wants a full 5-course meal waiting for him at the scorer's table every time he checks into the game then Nick Nurse and Co. better have whatever requested delicacy ready to roll.

The reigning MVP can simply do no wrong at the moment. Last night was another beautiful effort which is turning into a historic season for the Big Man - 31 points, 15 boards, 10 assists...in 31 minutes. That's it. Yet ANOTHER game where Embiid is putting up full game stats while only on the court for around 3 quarters of play. Load management might not be an issue when you're essentially working only part-time and still getting more done than someone grinding 3 shifts thru the night. The MVP has come a long way from getting hawked on by animated candy as a rookie.

Love to love it. Sixers are 23-10 which is good for 3rd in the East. It's looking like we'll see you in the 2nd round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Again. CUE IT!
