Mike Trout was dead in the water on Christmas day in The Show fantasy league. The season's #1 overall seed was drawing dead with a 15.94 point lead going into a much anticipated Monday Night Football matchup of the Ravens and 49ers. Shane Bieber and Austin Hedges has MVP frontrunner, Brock Purdy and the streaking Deebo Samuel in their lineup and were projected to win by 23.66. But as Chris Berman says, "THAT'S WHY YOU PLAY THE GAMES!"

Purdy put up a pithy 2.4 points while Deebo underwhelmed getting just over half his projected total. Trout got just enough Brotherly Shoves and the Giants last minute effort to tie the game which resulted in two crucial Darren Waller catches proved to be the difference. Trout scored an incredible upset in what was nothing short of a Christmas miracle.

His opponent was never really in doubt. Jake Marisnick and Andrew Benintendi took the loss of Justin Herbert in stride and lucky for them, they had a bye last week. They cobbled together a QB room of Nick Mullens, Jake Browning, and Gardner Minshew and even chose right! Mullens with a Justin Jefferson stack proved lethal, along with the rest of their skill position guys, headlined by Breece Hall's breakout performance.

Joc Pederson, Alex Wood, and Austin Barnes yielded a good team all year, but were let down by Stefon Diggs and Alvin Kamara, neither of which got half their projected points. But it wouldn't have mattered with this Nick Mullens-led squad going OFF.

The finals sets up this coming week with the season's top two seeds meeting in what should be a great final. Best of luck to both squads, led by Trout and Marisnick/Benintendi!
