Eric Hosmer Bows Out

The Show's points leader, Eric Hosmer, who had to bite, scratch, and claw just to get into the playoffs as the #6 seed has bowed out, losing to Joc Pederson, Austin Barnes, and Alex Wood by 3.0 points.

Hoz certainly regrets starting Kyler Murray over Joe Flacco, which would have changed the outcome. But he had some tough luck, with Michael Pittman Jr. going out of the game early and Odell Beckham Jr. falling 8.6 points below projection. Tony Pollard's numbers tanked after the Cowboys fell behind by so much and that was all she wrote. Credit to the Joc/Wood/Barnes trio as they got enough from Kyren Williams, a late season addition via trade and Trey McBride. Benching the Cowboys D/ST was also a bold move which gave them the win. They'll move on to play the #2 seed, Jake Marisnick and Andrew Benintendi in the semi-finals this weekend for a shot at the title game.

We had an upset with Shane Bieber and Austin Hedges taking down Manny Machado who had some brutal injury luck with his bell cow, Tyreek Hill being out last week.

Biebs and Hedges have used the Brock Purdy/Deebo Samuel stack to climb into the playoffs and they are dangerous. With explosive weapons like Jahmyr Gibbs, DK Metcalf, and Drake London, who could all go off at any given week, this team should give Mike Trout all he can handle in the next round. On the other side, Manny had a great season and got a heck of an effort from James Cook and Noah Brown. But Justin Fields had an off-game at the wrong time and his top 2 RBs being out along with Hill and his WR2 in Chris Olave proved more than he could handle.
