Steph Curry Once Again Buried The Celtics In Absolutely Ruthless Fashion

There are few things more terrifying as a fan than watching your team try and beat Steph Curry. Every second he's on the floor is stressful as hell. Every time he touches the ball you hold your breath, and every time he shoots the ball you are certain it's going in. There aren't too many players you can say that about, and for very obvious reasons (see: The 2022 NBA Finals), that's a feeling that's even more intense watching him play the Celtics.

Quite frankly, he buries them every goddamn chance he has. Every single game is dagger after dagger right to my goddamn heart. Take an NBA title from my hands one minute, throw daggers in my eyeball in an OT thriller 2 years later. It's all the same pain

The crazy part? We've seen this before with these two same teams. Last year, the Celts were 21-5 and on the road in GS, Steph Curry buried them with 32 points and 6 3PM in a 123-107 win. Total mental domination when the Celts were trying to make a statement coming off the Finals.

Tonight? The Celts were 20-5 on the road in GS looking to make a statement. That this time things would be different. Nope. Same pain. Steph finishes with 33 points and 6 3PM including that dagger to ice it you see above. The thing is, his damage started much earlier. Down 11 entering the 4th, Curry woke up and had 13 in the frame, including guess what? More huge threes

This is the problem when you play the Warriors and Steph Curry. When you're up 11, you're really down 5. When you're tied, you're down double digits. You have to completely blow them out because if you give Steph even a sliver of hope, he's going to bury you. How many more times do the Celtics need to see it? We've watched this movie a billion times, maybe switch it up?

Instead, it was another choke. Blow an 11 point 4th quarter lead, blow a 7 point lead with 4 to go, and then lose for the 3rd time this season in OT. Tatum with a complete no show in the biggest moments, sprained ankle be damned. This was no different than the 2022 Finals Tatum we saw play broken brain basketball when it came to his shot selection against GS. The Celts had a possession where they missed 5 straight wide open looks after OREBs, only to miss a layup that probably would have iced it. Then we had more missed layups in OT. It was about as full on PTSD as it gets from those 2022 Finals.

We'll dive in more tomorrow of course, but god dammit. Fucking Steph Curry. This guy just won't stop ruining my life.
