MIchael Irvin Is Demanding Sean Payton Publicly Apologizes For Yelling At Russ Wilson Because Of Social Media Or Some Other Bullshit

I debated even blogging this because I don't want to do the whole 'participation trophy' or 'back in my day' bullshit. But what are we doing here? Michael Irvin wants Sean Payton to apologize for yelling at Russ Wilson because social media will talk about it is one of the most asinine things I've ever heard. We're talking about professional sports here! If you played decent level of high school sports you probably got chewed out on the sidelines in any sport.

In what world should we be mad at a coach yelling at a quarterback? Shit, we should have more of it. Quarterbacks fuck up, a lot. It doesn't even matter what quarterback we're talking about. They all do something stupid at some point in the year, every single year. In my book that gets you yelled at. Oh no what will Ciara think seeing her husband getting screamed at? That's an insane way to think and I don't know how else to put it.

I don't even care about the money aspect. Pro athletes make a shit ton of money, that's really all there is to say. But if Russ is getting paid like a top tier quarterback, he should, you know, probably play like one? Especially with the season on the line. Hell, it wasn't even that bad of an ass chewing here. Payton was pissed, sure. But come on, we've seen a million coaches lose their mind way more than this. The only way to make this worse is publicly apologizing because you don't want social media to talk about it.

That said, I do miss the old days sometimes in the sense of waiting to get your news. The thrill of timing everything up to catch a score on the bottom line or your school being canceled. You can't recreate the thrill of that now. You find out in 2 seconds. It's what made us great growing up and why people my age are elite at having the remote control.
