Cody "No Love" Garbrandt Just Turned The Clocks Back With A Vintage Knockout

IS NO LOVE BACK?! VINTAGE CODY GARBRANDT AT UFC 296!

What a knockout! That was Cody Garbrandt's first KO since 2020, and prior to that, he hadn't had one since 2016 - so yeah, while it's a bit ridiculous to say a 32 year old is "turning the clocks back" in that headline....it's kinda true! 

Isn't it wild to think back to a time where he was knocking everybody out and making Dominick Cruz look silly?

This knockout comes at the expense of Brian "Boom" Kelleher coming straight off a serious neck surgery, following two first-round losses in a row, though - so with all due respect to Kelleher, I'm not sure how much this shows us about Garbrandt beyond it proving he still has KO power. He called out Deiveson Figueiredo afterwards, which seems like a HORRIBLE matchup for him in my opinion, but maybe this finish gave "No Love" a new jolt of confidence and is the start of a second run for Garbrandt. Maybe!

Dustin Jacoby vs Alonzo Menifield is on deck at UFC 296, which will be the final prelim of the night before the PPV starts, and I'd highly recommend tuning into ESPN or ESPN+ for that one. Should be a slobberknocker. Also - Jacoby is a Barstool Classic guy!
