Zack Snyder's Newest Opus "Rebel Moon" Is Getting Destroyed By Critics

A lot of directors out there have big followings. But the undying love that some people have for Zach Snyder is very bizarre to me. The guy's filmography is not void of good movies. I fuck with "300" and I think is "Dawn Of The Dead" remake is a lot of fun. But the problem with Zack Snyder is that when he's left to his own devices, he goes fucking crazy. People complain about what studio interference did to his DC movies, but I'm telling you, he can't be trusted. The last time he was given free rein to do whatever we wanted, we got "Sucker Punch," which was a disaster. The tradition of disaster seems to continue as his newest film, "Rebel Moon- Part One: A Child Of Fire," is being destroyed by critics.

For the sake of fairness, I need to point out that this movie's Rotten Tomatoes score has increased over the last several hours. It's no longer in the single digits, and it's currently holding a wonderful 25%. I won't act like Rotten Tomatoes is the number one indicator of a film's quality. There are many times in which I disagree with the tomato meter, but for a major director's science fiction opus that he's been working on for years to debut with that kind of numbers, it is cause for concern.

I've never met Mr. Snyder. By all accounts, he's a wonderful gentleman. The guy clearly puts a lot of effort into his movies. I disagree with the quality, but he has an annoying following. Snyder fans are. I've experienced it firsthand on social media. If it was David Fincher, I'd understand it. Christopher Nolan, I get it. But falling on the sword for Zack Snyder is like having Nic Punto be your favorite baseball player. It's not hurting anybody, I guess, but you could reach a lot higher.

If there's one thing I've learned about Zack Snyder throughout the years, it's that regardless of whether or not you like his movies or not, he's never going to stop. "Rebel Moon-Part Two: The Scargiver" (what a fucking terrible title) is going to be released in April of next year, completing Snyder's sci-fi epic, which I think he believes is the next Star Wars. Like all directors with a massive following, at some point, his own fanbase will turn on him. Maybe "Rebel Moon" is the start of that.
