At Least The Eagles Coaches Are Taking Responsibility For Their Extremely Shitty Offensive Play Calling...Kind Of

So...Eagles OC Brian Johnson took ownership for his piss-poor playcalling in the disastrous 42-19 dick down from the 49ers in which the Birds recorded only 2 offensive touchdowns. That's cute. You know what else would be cute? Taking somewhat responsibility for scoring ZERO offensive touchdowns the very next week in the biggest game of the year in Dallas. Or maybe just fixing the play calling and getting the job done. That would be the cutest.

And yes, turnovers and execution were obviously an issue vs. the Cowboys. Nobody is saying Hurts, AJ Brown, and Smitty fumbling in Dallas territory didn't hinder the Eagles. Or receivers dropping every dime from Jalen, too. But when you have players anonymously coming out saying shit like the offensive is "Very Predictable", that's 100000000% on the coaching staff:

Add on the fact the Eagles have been down double digits before halftime in each of their past 6 games (somehow still 4-2 in those contests) and the questions about coaching preparation, or lack thereof, are perfectly validated. This team simply has not looked ready to go out of the gate for most of the season. That's unacceptable. Of course it doesn't help the fact MVP Jalen Hurts is turning the ball over 2x as much as he did last year and has regressed back to taking 45 minutes to throw the football. But you know what else doesn't help? Plays that take 60 minutes to develop and, get this...THE PASSING PLAYS ARE ALL GOING TO THE SAME THREE PEOPLE!!!

Um…that doesn't seem ideal. Sure, the talents of Swoll Batman, Skinny Batman, and White Dakota Batman deserve their fair share of targets. But 100% of the market share during the entire game? MIX IN A FUCKING SCREEN PASS TO A RB EVERY SO OFTEN, BRIAN. Or even a designed deep route to Quez, who we've been consistently told is one of the best speed demons on Earth. Christ Almighty. It really ain't that hard. Not to mention the fact it's time D'Andre Swift should receive as close to 100% of the RB touches as possible. And maybe a few targets here and there, too. Dude is simply a wasted weapon.

You don't have to change much. You don't have to bench Hurts for Mariota (somebody please take away Chris Simms' and David Carrs' mics and/or souls). It's the little things. Spread the ball out more. Cut down on the QB draws and bubble screens to Julio Jones. MIX IN SOME PRE-SNAP MOTION AND MOVEMENT FOR ONCE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. Figure it all out and figure it all out now. The Eagles still control their own destiny thru South Philly in the playoffs. It's time to stop talking about it and start being about get. Get that 2022 swaggerjack shit back on O. It's still there, somewhere. Do it.
