Y'all Are Gonna Be Shocked With This One - Knicks Give Up 146 Points, Quentin Grimes Immediately Complains About His Role And Thibs

Ah, I was wondering when we'd get to this part of the season. Thanks a lot In Season Tournament. Knicks had to go to Milwaukee, gave up 146 points and roughly 100 of them were from three and this is what we get out of it? Quentin Grimes complaining about how he gets benched if he misses a shot, frustrated with his role, Thibs having to talk about roster changes. Great. Grand. Wonderful. 

Typically this is reserved for Mitchell Robinson, who basically once a year has some sort of complaint about being the 5th option on offense and not getting touches. Typical big man behavior. Then we had Josh Hart not too long ago say how he was out of rhythm and not really in sync with the offense. That was a bit jarring because Josh Hart just sort of does a little bit of everything and Thibs loves him. Now we have Quentin Grimes.

That's right. The man who was once deemed untouchable in trades is complaining about getting benched and his role. I get it. He's a scorer and defender and he simply isn't doing the first thing. He barely shoots the ball and he's for sure like the 5th best guard this season. Quickley passed him, Donte, Hart, Brunson. It also doesn't help how the Knicks offense is setup. It's designed for Brunson, Randle and Barrett to make plays. It's not beautiful offense by any means, but it's good enough for now. 

On the other hand, Grimes hasn't been great. He's tentative. He's not attacking the rim. He went like 20 games with 1 free throw. Makes no sense, especially in the NBA. One can say he's tentative because of Thibs, that's fair. But it's both people at fault here. It's also worth mentioning at least one of these guys will be traded. It's not exactly a secret the Knicks are going to make a trade at some point and it's Grimes, Quickley being the lead asset there. 

The worst part is this team isn't that bad! 12-8, looking like one of the 4-6 seeds in the East. This isn't the old Knicks who would be 5-15 right now with everyone revolting. But can we please just go one goddamn week without people complaining.
