I Am Setting A Goal
I am setting a goal. We’re probably not gonna hit it. I imagine that’s not how you’re supposed to start when laying out your objective but just because we want something doesn’t mean we have to start being unrealistic about the world.
Anyway, I want Out of Order to have 50,000 YouTube subscribers by January 1, 2024.
It really doesn’t mean anything, I don’t think, but I’d like to see that number. I enjoy doing Out of Order. I think it’s fun. I think it’s different than most things we do at Barstool. And, most importantly, I think it’s really good because some of the funniest and most talented people at the company work on it. The difficult part of that is that it’s no one’s job. Every writer/producer/actor/whatever the fuck you call everyone does a handful of other things so all skits (sketches? I don’t know the difference) are done in everyone’s free time. Which is fine. Until we get told things like “Out of Order has to start making money.” I don’t even know what that means, to be perfectly honest? I guess we have to sell it too? I thought our jobs were to make and produce content and sales sold stuff but what do I know. If the channel has 50,000 subscribers then, at least in my head, it feels more real. That’s not a staggering number or anything like that but it’s also an actual one. 50,000 YouTube subscribers is like my penis, you’re not gonna brag about it but it’s also undeniable that there’s at least something there.

If we have 50k then hopefully we stop being told to spend less time on the show (again, no one misses their job to do Out of Order so idk why that message has trickled down? We shouldn’t spend our own time doing work?) and perhaps even make a buck or two on it. We’ve got a lot of plans for the show. We switched it to weekly sketches because the numbers just do better there, but we haven’t abandoned episodes. We have a Christmas one coming out at the end of the year with the whole gang- me, Sas, Nick and KB. We’re hopefully going to do more episodes next year for season 2. If you could help us out and subscribe that would do wonders for getting us the freedom and ability to do more. Thank you kindly.
