Buccaneers Come From Behind In Ugly Weather To Pull Within One Game Of The NFC South Lead

The Buccaneers were battling the conditions today with a torrential downpour happening during most of the 1st half as well as their division rival Panthers. Carolina has obviously had a disappointing season at 1-10 going into the game, but they just fired their Head Coach in Frank Reich so were expected to at least be frisky today in Tampa.

But when Carolina pulled ahead 10-7, it became clear that this frisky team was a problem. Legendary Buccaneers Wide Receiver, who has been with the team since he was drafted there in 2014 would not let this team lose today and scored a 75-yard touchdown on the very next play.

The Bucs never looked back.

In fact, they piled on with a Chris Godwin rushing touchdown shortly thereafter to make it a two score game.

And while the game got out of hand, the Bucs did have an enormous milestone during the game as Mike Evans surpassed 1,000 yards receiving for the 10th straight season, extending the longest streak to start a career. He is now just one behind Jerry Rice for the most consecutive 1,000 yard seasons in a row.

This is a record that means a lot to Evans and Buccaneers fans.

So as a guy who is in a contract year, I sincerely hope that Evans is back in Tampa not only next season but for the rest of his career.

As for the game, the Bucs move to 5-7 and just 1-game behind the division leading Atlanta Falcons, who they will face next week. Here's hoping the Bucs get a lot healthier and can win another game next weekend!
